19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after that period of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first tour title, took control to create a final set.
Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
